Jojo really is one in a million and, without question, one of the sweetest mares we have ever had the pleasure of finding a new home for.
She has been with the same family for the past six years and is only being offered for sale because her rider is heading off to university. This is an incredibly sad and genuine sale, so finding Jojo the very best home is the absolute priority.
She is the definition of a true all-rounder and will happily turn her hoof to almost anything. Dressage, showjumping, showing, cross-country, pleasure rides and trips to the beach, Jojo has done it all, got the T-shirt and probably has the matching shorts too!
She happily jumps courses of 70–80cm and will pop the occasional bigger fence around 1m. She may not always be the quickest against the clock, but she is careful, genuine and knows how to leave the poles up. She has often been the only clear in her classes and has picked up plenty of wins and placings as a result.
On the flat, Jojo works sweetly and correctly and has competed at Prelim level. She tries hard, produces an accurate test and is straightforward enough for someone wanting to enjoy their dressage without feeling as though every movement needs to be negotiated beforehand! She is no future Grand Prix superstar, but she is genuine, willing and more than capable of bringing home a respectable score.
Jojo has also been cross-country and would be ideal for low-level Pony Club eventing, hunter trials and fun team competitions. She has enjoyed numerous pleasure rides and beach rides and is always an absolute pleasure to take out in a large group. She has not really hunted, but we have no reason to think she wouldn’t take to it—and we will eat our shoe if she misbehaves!
To hack, she is safe, sane and sensible alone, in company, traffic and open spaces. She is happy giving a rider confidence or standing patiently outside the pub while Mum enjoys a ride with her friends. She is the sort who could genuinely be enjoyed by the whole family and would make a wonderful first horse for someone wanting a kind, experienced and reliable partner.
On the ground, Jojo is simply amazing. She is kind, affectionate and absolutely loves fuss and attention. She is good to catch, load, travel, shoe and handle, and she stands beautifully for the farrier. She is a complete dream to have around the yard and quickly becomes everyone’s favourite.
No vices, no hang-ups and no hidden agenda—just a genuinely lovely mare who deserves an equally lovely home.
