Luna is a mare very close to our hearts. Homebred here at Verdi’s, she is by Crowns Wonder Pearl out of a mare by OBOS Quality, bringing together a lovely type, a fabulous temperament and plenty of natural common sense, with that lovely OBOS Quality jump thrown in for good measure!

Add her dun colouring into the mix and she really is a lovely package. However, it’s her attitude that makes us smile the most. Talent is lovely, but talent with this much willingness and such an easy going outlook is something we’re very excited about.

Broken in last winter, Luna has been a dream to bring on. She has never said no, never had a tantrum and has taken everything we’ve introduced in her stride. No drama, no lengthy negotiations, just a very sweet mare with an “OK, let’s give it a go” approach to life. She really is THAT chilled.

Her schooling is progressing nicely in all three paces. She works in a lovely outline, has a natural rhythm and is beginning to develop the balance and strength to match. She gives you a lovely foundation to work with, and we can see her producing a very pleasing dressage test as her education continues.

Luna is currently jumping small courses, showing a willing attitude and scope to progress. There is plenty still to learn, but she approaches the job with the same enthusiasm and common sense she brings to everything else. We think she would make a very smart little event horse, and we’re excited to see what she makes of the world as she gains more experience.

Hacking is a particular favourite. She goes alone and in company and loves heading out to explore. She’s the one everyone wants to take, enjoyable, straightforward and sensible, with enough about her to make it fun. She has been good in open spaces and with the small amount of village and farm traffic she has seen so far.

On the ground, she is equally lovely. Good to shoe, catch, clip and generally do, she has been a pleasure to have around throughout.

Luna is now ready to start heading out to arena hires and clinics, gaining experience and enjoying the next chapter of her education. She has had a lovely start, and we’re looking for someone who will keep building on that with patience, consistency and a bit of ambition.

Home is extremely important to us. We would love to see Luna with a rider who is excited about producing a young horse and giving her the time to develop her talent. Having bred her and watched her grow up, we would really love to follow her journey.
