Dora is a kind, sweet-natured mare with a beautiful temperament and a willing attitude—far removed from the typical “chestnut mare” stereotype.

She has been in the same loving home for the past six years, where she has enjoyed pleasure rides, hacking, and hunting. She has been a much-loved member of the family, so finding the right home for her is a top priority.

Dora’s schooling is progressing nicely. She is green for her age due to her previous home focusing more on hacking than schooling, but she has taken to her training with us quickly and without fuss. She has a genuine, workmanlike attitude and is eager to please.

She jumps well and shows plenty of natural ability over a fence. As her schooling continues to develop, so will her jumping. She has already jumped small courses confidently, is brave, will happily take a missed stride, and is unfazed by fillers, planks, and similar obstacles. Dora would make a fantastic prospect for low-level British Showjumping, as well as Pony Club and Riding Club activities.

Out hacking, Dora is reliable both alone and in company. She is used to farm and village traffic, is sensible in open spaces, and is happy to pop logs, small hedges, and ditches. She would also go on to enjoy cross-country.

She is easy to manage in all respects—good to shoe, clip, load, and catch—and is a straightforward, low-maintenance mare on the yard. She is suitable for a variety of riders and is sensible and reliable, though still green for her age.

Dora has been seen to weave when stressed or anxious. This was observed a couple of times when she first arrived but has not been seen since. This is reflected in her price.
